Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have flipped the stunning designer home they purchased last January and made a cool $15 million on the deal.
According to the site TMZ.com, DeGeneres and de Rossi—who have a sweet spot for buying beautiful homes—sold their upgraded Los Angeles pad to Internet entrepreneur Sean Parker for $55 million. Parker’s newest investment is in the Holmby Hills area near West Los Angeles.
The mid-century modern-style home is set on more than two acres of land and has a swimming pool, guest home and tennis house. The 13,511-square-foot residence—which DeGeneres and de Rossi purchased shortly after the new year for $40 million—is an open design with glass walls, vaulted ceilings. It has six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a living room with library and an open chef’s kitchen.
The highlight of the split-level home is a spectacular outdoor living area complete with fireplace and smooth stone finishes. The property is complete with lush greenery and pine trees, which is in contrast to the couple’s new abode—an entire floor in a popular condominium building across town, as Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi have paid $16 million for the top floor of a condo building in upscale Beverly West.
Parker, whose net worth is estimated at around $2.7 billion, knows a good thing when he sees one. In addition to co-founding Napster, he was Facebook’s first president and was portrayed by Justin Timberlake in the film “The Social Network“.
