How did Beverly Hills not have a dog park already? (Everyone there has a yard, we guess?) Well, anyway, it’s getting one now, says the Beverly Hills Courier. For a while it looked like the dog park might head to an “underutilized” croquet court at Roxbury Park, but that idea was axed in February. The park came up repeatedly in council meetings since then, but it wasn’t until yesterday that everyone could agree on a site, and the city council finally approved the city’s very first dog romping zone on a city-owned lot at the southeast corner of Foothill Road and Alden Drive. “Having a dog park in the right location would add to the quality of life experience that our residents enjoy by living here,” the mayor says. The park is anticipated to cost about $175,000.
